Celebration of tragedy

No...the Title was not an error....there are people in India, who celebrate tragedy

If you have any doubt - please watch the evening news....

Beaming faces of the news readers will gleefully inform you that Bird fever has spread to more districts of Bengal.....

They will then go on to thrill you with the exciting news that Kerala is under the threat of Yellow fever and Chicken Gunia...

14 killed in police firing in Bengal...

hundereds of bones (yes, bones) found in graves of Nandigram.... (as if they expected something else in the graves)!

Millions are rendered landless because of the Car factory in Singur....

Yes Yes Let Us Celebrate.........
People are suffering in Kerala and Bengal!!

This is so totally true. But I think that's how human psyche works. Are we not always told to be happy for what we have coz there are millions others who don't have anything? I find that more depressing than comforting!

I agree with you, Preeti. But then I also would like to agree with Alexandre Dumas:
"There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state to another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life."
